VOLUNTEER AT SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGE

SOS Children’s village organises volunteer work as an association of citizens in accordance with the Law on volunteering. With the involvement of volunteers in our work, we can improve and support the quality of our work and at the same time, we can promote volunteering and social responsibility among young people and young professionals who are part of the community. At the same time, we build the capacities and the skills of the volunteers who acquire volunteer engagement and experience.

How is my work regulated and organised?

SOS Children’s village shall conclude a Volunteer Agreement with the candidate selected for the volunteer position. The expenses covered for the volunteer shall also be defined in the Volunteer Agreement.
The work duties shall be described to the selected candidate in written, as part of the employment agreement where the candidate is introduced to his work environment. The person responsible for the program shall introduce the volunteer to the work and provide him with a short guidance which consists of an introduction to the policies of the organization, the field of work, the employees which are part of the program and the work conditions. After the volunteering has ended, the volunteer shall receive a volunteering booklet. The volunteer can submit a copy of the volunteering booklet for the future job applications, whereby the employer will receive information about the experience and skills that the applicant acquired during the volunteering.
