SOS Children’s village Macedonia began its work with the establishment of the Association of Citizens in 2001. From the first admitted child in 2002, the organization has been continuously developing and expanding its scope of activity. Today, SOS Children’s village Macedonia provides care for children and young people without parental care and is dedicated to its work in the field of social prevention, strengthening of families at social risk with children who are at highest risk of losing their parents’ care. Simultaneously, it has implemented various programs and projects for children and young people at social risk, along with other projects for capacity building with institutions and professionals who work as part of the system for placement in care for children without parental care. The village provides active representation and lobbying for the fulfillment of the children’s rights, and in order to make changes to the laws and by-laws, and the goal of the changes is to create a favorable environment for providing high-quality social services. The General Assembly and the Governing Board are supreme bodies with decision-making responsibilities. The National management team is responsible for the realization of all programs and projects of SOS Children’s village Macedonia.
Starting from 2001, SOS Children’s village Macedonia has been dedicated to providing care and support for children and young people without parental care for more than 17 years. In addition, we have been working and supporting families at social risk for 10 years now in order to prevent children from losing their parents' care.
